An 8-day film festival highlighting Latin American culture

Hosted by the Gainesville Latina Women's League

Un festival de 8 días celebrando a La Cultura Latinoamericana

Organizada por La Liga de Mujeres Latinas

This year's Gainesville Latino Film Festival promises something for everyone, including music and cultural events as well as films. The festival will be held at different venues throughout Gainesville from Sept. 8 to Sept. 18. All events are free and open to the public.

Among the festival highlights is the Afro-Cuban dance group IFÉ-ILÉ, which will perform African and Latin American dances and music.

Another noteworthy event is the Noche de Baile! concert starring Gilberto de Paz & TROPIX, a Latin-music band that gets people on their feet with salsa, merengue, cumbia, and bachata music, among other genres.

And the Spanish Immersion storytelling program for children returns to the Tower Road Library. During the month of September, P.K. Yonge students will read children's stories in both languages, Spanish and English, every Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.

The Latina women's league is proud to bring two weeks of the festival in various locations throughout Gainesville, open to the public with FREE admissions! We look forward to seeing you at our events during the month of September from the 8th to the 18!
